Wayfarer
The Vortex's own door. Hundreds of people live in its seven cities, every one of them with a mind of its own, playing round the clock on hardware we keep for them. They drink, court, marry and have children; they found gangs and go to war over them; and they will rob you in your sleep. Every fight is on a clock. Attack anyone, anywhere. A hundred levels up the road there is a throne, and after the throne there are gods.
